After Acryl's launch back in 2004, label boss Da Funk is back for the 50th release and this time he brought none other than Si Brad, Pete Moss, Elmar Schubert and Q-Burns Abstract Message for the remixes.

Driven by a kickin' bassdrum and a fat anaolg bassline, 'Need For Faith' surely is a hypnotic dancefloor-torpedo. Spherical pads, dreamy synths, beautiful chords and some weird fx-gadgetery rounds up the tone.

Simon Bradshaw - probably better known by his aliases Si Brad, Attaboy or Weekender - marks a comeback into the limelight with his remix. His rendition of 'Need For Faith' is a classic deep house jam, complete with driving grooves, a discoid bassline, crystal-clear piano chords and chirping synth gimmicks.

Based in Pennsylvania, Pete Moss leads the focus on his remix to a housy tech groove, paired with romantic soundscapes and a wonderful subbass.

The remix of England based German producer Elmar Schubert is a dynamic stomper who shows a detroitesque house sound with a debonair groove and striking stabs.

Q-Burns Abstract Message, the Orlando based producer, rounds out the package with a deep and reduced version: organic, warm sounds take on an analog bass line and a light-footed groove to get you goin'!

Nach dem Start im Jahr 2004 steht mit 'Need For Faith' von Labelgründer Da Funk die 50. Veröffentlichung in den Startlöchern. Mit dabei im saftigen Release-Paket: Remixe von Si Brad, Pete Moss, Elmar Schubert und Q-Burns Abstract Message.

Angetrieben durch eine kickende Bassdrum und einer dicken anaologen Basslinie entwickelt sich 'Need For Faith' zu einem hypnotischen Tanzflur-Torpedo. Sphärische Flächen, verträumte Synth's und Chords und leicht düstere Effekt-Spielereien runden das Klanggebilde ab.

Simon Bradshaw - wohl bekannter unter seinen Aliases Si Brad, Attaboy oder Weekender - findet mit seinem Remix nach Jahren wieder zurück ins Rampenlicht. Der Remix des in England lebenden, deutschen Produzenten Elmar Schubert ist ein dynamischer Stomper, der dem detroitschen House-Sound mit einem lässigen Groove und markanten Piano-Stabs seine Referenz erweist.

Q-Burns Abstract Message, der in Orlando beheimatete Produzent, rundet das Package mit einer deepen und flächigen Version ab: Organische, warme Sounds treffen auf eine analoge Basslinie und einen leichtfüssig vor sich hin galoppierenden Groove.

Eighth Dimension Records has launched its Blue Label Series, a continuing set of releases curated by Q-Burns Abstract Message focusing on eclectic, deeper dance floor sounds. There's no better way to start this party than with our bass guitar- slinging DJ friend from Minneapolis, Jevne. Arising out of the rave days of the early nineties to founding his quality-consistent Onethirty Recordings label Jevne has been a longtime active player on the American dance music scene.

His previous appearance on Eighth Dimension was a superb remix of Beaters & Bowls' "The Stranger" and Jevne's also contributed to the catalogs of Chillin Music, Connected Musik, Conya, among others. In between constantly traveling the world as a DJ (often accompanying himself on the aforementioned bass guitar) and running his increasingly popular label Jevne found the time to record and deliver a pair of house music firecrackers for Eighth Dimension.

Leading the charge is the club-ready monster known as "Following The System." There's a powerful groove here transported above the norm by funky staccato chords, melodic pads, and an echoed vocal hit serving as a call to action. It's a peak time track for the underground set, filling the floor with energy without getting too 'big room' on everyone.

A track like "Following The System" demands the remix treatment so Jevne and Eighth Dimension enlisted a couple of skilled mutual friends who were ready for the task at hand. Switzerland's Da Funk, the prolific producer behind the Acryl Music label and a slew of remixes for the likes of Plastic City and Deepology Digital, is first on deck with a freewheeling after-hours excursion.

Da Funk's Punto Rojo Remix is a hefty builder, anchored by insistent rhythms and pulsating pads, eventually climaxing in a stew of 303 bubbles and filtered swirls. The echoed vocal hit floats above the thick construction as if leading the way forward. This booming builder's ready to test sound systems worldwide.

A building mix of "Following The System" of a different sort comes courtesy of Lost My Dog head honcho Pete Dafeet. Pete's had quite the year with his label reaching its fifth year, marked by a highly rated CD compilation mixed by the man himself.

Here Pete Dafeet's remix rides on an almost Detroit-ish foundation of drum machine and bass line, hypnotically pulling the listener in as elements from Jevne's original spaciously enter the sound-space. Warm, sustained pads rest underneath the signature vocal hit which is manipulated through additional echo and reverb treatments. A prime time basement jam, ready to be tightly mixed into a DJ's set.

Jevne closes out this single with the 'b-side' bonus of "Velvet Eyes." Here's Jevne on a percussive breakbeat tip, experimenting a bit on top of a four-on-floor footing. Wild sounds and synth bits circle around the mix as we get a bit of Jevne's trademark live bass guitar holding down the bottom end. This is a sweet addition to the arsenal of a house DJ looking for something far fromtraditional, and a fantastic way to close out the first edition of the Blue Label Series. Here's an edit i've made from an alltime favourite filter disco house track from 1999.
Had to take it down from 129 to 124 bpm because that was waaaaaay too fast (but not an unusual tempo back then).

Other edits i've done here is basically cut and paste and a bit of additional filtering and fx here and there.

After an almost 2 year long hiatus, Acryl Music's label boss Da Funk is back in time for the 40th release. "Gloomy Scene" is a true filter house monster complete with mid 90ies drum programming, a rolling bassline and weird but funky samples. Oh and did we mention the vocal in the break?

After nearly a year long hiatus Justified Cause makes a triumphant return with a lot of positive vibes and deep sounds. They make the return to the dancefloor a man of a thousand labels, the Swiss Housemaster Da Funk. Da Funk created his own music platform, Acryl Music in 2004 and has remixed all of our House Music neighbors, cousins and their uncles, but we finally have him here in our home.

"Look Ahead" is the lead single of the EP and its title accompanied by "The Final Stage", both created with a very fresh & mellow flavor of house. We also have the debut of an artist who will soon have a strong presence in the electronic music scene and at Justified Cause. We’re talking about none other then the incomparable International Bitch, the first lady of Justified. Despite some apocalyptic predictions and mysterious warnings concerning the new decade, Low Flow Records bravely breaks in the new 2010, with loads of positive emotions and ground-shaking productions.

Starting with the original version of “In A Fog”, Krummstoff takes us through the surreal dimension of tech-house music, with the brain-penetrating percussion cuts and soul-shivering bleeps and sound textures.

The “Sternenmeer Remix” by the Acryl Music boss - Da Funk, brings us an atmospheric vibe with the shiny percussion lines and psychedelically tweaked samples that guide the original recording into a deeper sound.
The EP is being completed with “In A Ditch” – a kind of a dark and aggressive revision of a ‘foggy trip’, with the oppressive breakdown and the emotional sound burst after it.

It used to be a very special place full of incredible educated stylish funky people but it has become a home for the easy money, commercial parties for people more interested in drugs, tits & asses that in the music and hordes of "wannabe" dj's and producers who play/perform for almost nothing in order to enjoy the dubious privilege of associating their names with "Ibiza".

Looks like a horrible scenario right?
Well, in the other hand, there is still a parallel ibiza, a small group of people who have had and continue experiencing a different musical story and who enjoy their lives hiding from the british tourists and swimming naked in secret turquoise crystal water "calas" in Ibiza or Formentera. A different Ibiza, a redoubt for all these professionals and music lovers who work day by day to add something, not to copy, to collaborate not to segregate, to educate, not to self promote.

A group of "underground music soldiers" more interested in playing/producing high end music than in appearing in the front cover of the dj magazine with a cheesy haircut wearing those horrible gucci sunglasses saying some shit like "my tour in indonesia and brazil went very well." (Bloody hell!!!!)

It’s a pleasure for us to welcome back Fabien Kamb for his 2nd full release on Body Rhythm Black, and it’s a good one! In our opinion Fabien, a resident of Armenia, is one of the most exciting new talents on the scene in recent times and it would seem others agree with labels like Elevation, Neurotraxx, Onethirty, DeepClass and Disclosure Project all having sought his services since his debut release. He’s also currently celebrating the debut release on his LowFlow label which he co-owns with friend Krummstoff (Dutchie Music, DeepClass). The three original tracks on his new Standpoints EP highlight his mastery of his craft, featuring wonderful palette of sonic stabs, synths and textures, his trademark techy rhythms and an ability to create music with genuine depth and feeling this EP is undoubtedly amongst his best work to date.

Sealing this EP as an essential must buy we have enlisted two talented producers to remix one of the standout tracks ‘Stay Down For A While’. As a long time producer of quality house music Da Funk has amassed an impressive collection of releases and remixes on labels like Plastic City, Pacha Recordings, Peppermint Jam, Cabrio and of course his own Acryl Music imprint which recently celebrated it’s 25th release. As if that wasn’t enough we’ve also brought in the very talented Spin Science to give us his interpretation of the track. With labels like Urban Torque, Global Underground and Plastic City to be found in his discography you can rest assured that the track is in very capable hands!
